Blinkx Remote will ‘make your TV jealous’

The website Blinkx has launched a new service currently in Beta.

It is designed to link together all of the online shows from providers such as BBC, ITV and Channel 4, Channel 5 and (oddly) CBS, Saving time for people who can’t be bothered to work out which channel their favourite programme is on and go to the provider’s website.

Despite the site looking like it either has no layout or is designed for iPhone, by that I mean it is just all listed rather than having a boxed layout with columns, it seems interesting, even if quite possibly useless.

This is only possible now that all main UK TV providers now have browser based catch-up services.

I was a bit disappointed when I realised that it does not play shows on the Blinkx website but instead simply directs you to the proper website. It is simply a directory of what is available – which I guess is useful for browsing’s sake.

Ex Google Employees Launch Search Engine

Yesterday, Ex Google staff unveiled their new search engine designed to give Google a run for it’s money.

Cuil, pronounced ‘Cool’ adds additional features to the traditional search engine and seems to go further inside websites and shows content from them including images.

It would first appear that results need improving, but this looks really good and could be a winner.
