Facebook Apps 2: The Return Of Scrabulous

    hdfhdfjh

This week see’s the return of word game Scrabulous to Facebook in the form of Wordscrapper. As you can see above, the visual style of the game has been changed to distance it from Scrabble. You will still need to link up letters to create words and earn points but hopefully the name change and differences in the rules will be enough to avoid any further court action.

    Scrabulous Pulled From Facebook

Popular Scrabble clone Scrabulous has been disabled for Facebook users in the US and Canada due to the Hasbro lawsuit against the Facebook app. Hasbro claim “Patent Infringement” on their word based game. The lawsuit states that Scrabulous uses “essential and original elements” from Scrabble and that the two names are “confusingly similar”. The company is now reviewing their position in other countries due to Mattel owning the franchise outside of the US.
